What I love: - Strong matcha taste - Super creamy - M.B.R topping (mochi, brown sugar syrup, roasted soybean powder) - additional $2 I personally like the mochi here better than Nana's. However, the matcha flavor is not as strong as Nana's as it gets tone down by the Hokkaido milk. I don't think one is better than the other - it's different and both are amazing! They have 2 locations: one in Wallingford and the other in Bellevue! This is not a spot for large group - limited seatings outside. No service.
9/10. I went to Indigo Cow, and it was a delightful treat! The ice cream was very smooth and creamy. I got the matcha and milk swirl with the BMR. The matcha with the soybean powder and the brown sugar syrup was the best thing ever! It was a beautiful ice cream with many layers and flavors. My friend also got other stuff but my poor memory cannot recall the name! 9/10. They have great service! Very friendly, smiley and just impressive! Their friendly attitude makes me want to go back again and they are very happy to give me more soybean powder when I ask! 8/10. I love this little Wallingford town! Very great location and cute door! Their menu is cute and also hand written! They have plenty of street parkings and also next to a ramen place which is on my list to try!
Not super sweet ice cream. It's Japanese Hokkaido milk ice cream. I love getting it with the mochi and the sauce. Quick and refreshing ice cream stop.
I have a thing for soft swirl. Well really dessert in general, but I'm allergic to gluten, so it's often soft swirl, ice cream, gelato, fro-yo etc. My daughter is attending UW so she's become my official guide to great food in the city of Seattle. She's taken me to Indigo Cow on two different visits and both times it's been yummy. It's not the best soft serve I've ever had, but I love the Japanese twist on it. The first time I just got the brown sugar sauce and mochi on the Matcha/Hokkaido Milk swirl. The second time I got the Hokkaido Milk with the MBR (Mochi, brown sugar sauce, Soybean Powder). Both were yummy and fun. Not something I HAVE to have, but when in Wallingford a fun stop. They don't have an indoor space. You order from a window. They do have some covered seating right outside, but there are only 4 tables and they are often full, so when it's raining, it's not the most pleasant experience, but on a sunny day, it's cool.
Crazy long line, but delicious ice cream. It's a walk up booth with some outdoor seating. I got a yaki imo cup which is a seasonal flavor. I've never had something like this before so it was super fun to try. They make the brûle to order.
Cute soft serve spot in Wallingford/Fremont! Came here after a long run in hopes to cool off a bit. Really enjoyed the matcha soft serve. The hokkaido milk soft serve was good but nothing special. Highly recommend the MBR topping. I'd definitely come back if I was in the area but wouldn't make a special trip to come back here
Went for after dinner dessert and there was a decent crowd but moved quick! Parking is pretty bad with not much space on the street so we used the bank parking lot. Shop is just a window space with some outside seating but mostly a to go place. Menu is one item and just pick toppings so it was pretty easily made. 8/10 Regular w/ MBR $6+$2 - My expectations of this Hokkaido soft serve is cremia from Japan but this didn't live up to that. Ice cream itself is still creamy, rich, smooth, but not as good in any of those as aspects comparatively. Barely meets the memory cravings. Surprisingly the star was the mochi. I was just going to get the ice cream only but was kind of glad to try their mochi. Texture was on point! Very chewy, not completely soft but rather slightly firm and bouncy. Paired with the brown sugar syrup and ice cream, it was really goood! Little pricy for ice cream but it is a good try.
FIRE SOFT SERVE!!! probably one of my fave ice cream spots in seattle! it is a window outside of secret fort so there isn't any seating, unless you're also eating at secret fort/yoroshiku. i love the texture of their soft serve, so smooth and creamy, not overly sweet. they have the option to add toppings, the mbr is yummy, it has a brown sugar syrup and mochi, which are very soft and chewy. my favorite though is their seasonal creme brulee sweet potato! it has a sweet potato puree, then a creme brulee top! it was so good, i wish it was a permanent menu item.
As someone who doesn't like sweets, the Hokkaido milk soft serve is just perfect. I'm sure that the other flavors they offer here are just as delicious, but in my opinion, there's nothing that beats the Hokkaido milk flavor with their signature Shiratama Kuromitsu Kinako topping. They keep their menu small because honestly why would they need to add anything else when the Hokkaido milk is already so amazing? Not really any place to sit down because this spot is just a window that you walk up to, but that's okay because my soft serve will not last long anyway. I definitely make sure to stop by any time I'm in the area. The service is generally pretty quick and friendly.
